Jaipur: Teachers of as many as 17 Jaipur schools will be participating in a half-day workshop entitled ‘Enhancing History Pedagogy’ at City Palace tomorrow. The workshop is being organized by Maharaja Sawai Man Singh (MSMS) II Museum Trust and Gunijankhana: Maharaja Sawai Bhawani Singh Jaipur Museum Society. It will be held from 8.30 am to 12.30 pm at Banquet Hall in City Palace.
The workshop will be an outreach educational programme of MSMS II Museum Trust. It will help school teachers of Class XI and XII enhance teaching of History as an academic subject. The workshop will aid the participants develop skills to gather data from a variety of sources; to develop 21st century managerial skills of coordination; give a multidisciplinary approach to topics; develop lasting interest in history discipline, among other skills. A few of the participating schools are – M.G.D. School; MSMS Vidhyalaya, Tagore International School; Sanskar School; The Palace School; Delhi Public School, Neerja Modi School, among others
The workshop will begin with an Orientation and Introduction by Consulting Director (Library & Archives), MSMS II Museum and Eminent Historian, Ms. Rima Hooja. This will be followed by a session entitles ‘Use of Imagination in History’ by Director (Administration & Guest Relations), MSMS II Museum Mr. Yunus Khimani, and a Tour of the Museum by Chief Curator, MSMS II Museum, Mr. Pankaj Sharma. The workshop will conclude with an interactive session and discussions of future projects by Consulting Director (Education Program), MSMS II Museum, Mr. Sandeep Sethi.
