Attempts were made to remove Ambedkar's contribution for a family: Modi

Jaipur| Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the welfare schemes of the Union and the State Governments won’t get stuck, delayed or distracted but make their way to the commoner beneficiaries on the ground.

Addressing the Prime Minister-Beneficiaries Interaction at Jaipur’s Amroodon Ka Bagh he said that the dream of making a New India by the year 2022 will not be possible with Rajasthan’s presence and support. He said that the central government would consider Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje’s demand of granting national project status to Parvati-Kali Sindh, Chambal Link project with compassion. This project was important for resolving the issue of drinking and irrigation water for 13 districts in east Rajasthan covering 40% of the state’s population, he said.

Modi interacted with lakhs of beneficiaries of 13 welfare schemes of the central and the state government and talked about the changes these schemes brought into their lives. He also laid foundation of 13 new urban development projects costing Rs 2100 crores for different cities and towns in the state.

The Prime Minister praised the status of implementation of Rashtriya Poshan Mission and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. He said that the mind and the act of participation of the people in governance was visible in this event. The culture of hospitality and belongingness in Rajasthan mesmerized the PM, he said.

Modi said that the state government under the leadership of Chief Minister Smt. Vasundhara Raje ensured that the farmers in Rajasthan get their due. He said that three years ago Soil Health Card Scheme was launched from Suratgarh to target that 14 farmers in the state get these cards. As on today, 14.5 crore soil health cards had been distributed in the country of which 90 lakh cards had been issued to farmers in Rajasthan. Talking about the recent hike in minimum support price of various crops, the PM added that the governments in the centre and the state were ensuring decisions in farmers welfare.

The PM said these incumbent governments were progressing on the single point agenda of development. Mentioning a research report he said that five crore people in the country got rid-of poverty. He said that 80 lakh toilets had been constructed in Rajasthan and over 2.5 crore Jan Dhan Bank Accounts have been opened. Over 6 lakh people had been given home under the Prime Minister Awas Scheme. Also, benefits of Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Mudra Yojana had been extended to 70 lakh and 44 people respected, he added.

Prime Minister Feels Pain of Poor: Chief Minister
Addressing the gathering CM Smt. Raje said that the PM felt the pain of the poor and launched schemes like Jan Dhan to ensure that the beneficiaries directly reap the benefits without any leakage. She said that the PM’s interaction with such a huge number of beneficiaries was the first of its kind in the country.

Smt. Raje made the PM interact with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjawala Yojana, Mudra, Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram, Mukhyamantri Rajshri, Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana, Kaushal Vikas, Scooty-Bicycle Yojana, Shramik Kalyan, Bhamashah Yojana, Mukhyamantri Jal Swavalamban Abhiyan and various farmers’ welfare schemes from various districts of Rajasthan. The farmers thanked the PM for offering hike in MSP of crops.

During this, Governor Shri Kalyan Singh, Home Minister Shri Gulabchand Kataria, Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Shri Kailash Meghwal, several Ministers of the Union and the state governments, other public representatives and dignitaries were also present.
