Jaipur,Chhena poda is a cheese dessert from the state of odisha in japanese Asian country. Chhena poda literally suggests that roast Cheese in Odia. It is manufactured from well-kneaded homemade contemporary cheese chhena, sugar, cashew nuts and raisins, and is baked for several hours till it browns. Chhena poda is the only renowned Indian sweet whose flavor is preponderantly derived from the caramelization of sugar.

Demand and sale of chhenapoda is huge in Odisha with each sweet search getting ready its own flavour either from sugar or gud (jaggery). Its shape of a cake typically attracts a vast guests to grab a bite and take it home as a “Taste of Odisha”.

 Ingredient :-

 

  • Chenna squeezed (freshly curdled) – 1 kilo
  • Suji / Semolina / Rava – 1/2 cup
  • Castor Sugar – 2 cups
  • Cardamom powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Raisins – 1/2 cup
  • Broken pieces of Cashew around the bend (optional)

 

Methods :-

 

  • Once you make the Paneer / Chenna, you need not press it as you usually do. Let it stand on the sieve for 10 minutes.
  • Roast the raisins and cashew nuts in drawn butter and keep it aside.
  • Then take the Chenna in a big bowl and mash it completely.
  • Next add Suji and sugar. Mix the chenna, suji and sugar well. It will flip terribly soft and breakable.
  • Now add the cardamom powder,  roasted around the bend and raisins. Mix again.
  • For getting the caramelized result on the high, apply a tablespoon of ghee to the baking tin.
  • Sprinkle a tablespoon of sugar on the tin. Hold the tin slightly above gas stove for few minutes to soften the sugar.
  • Spread the liquefied sugar equally.
  • Then transfer the chenna mix over the caramelized sugar.
  •  Preheat the kitchen appliance at 185 deg c. Then bake the chenna for 30 minutes Insert a strip to check. It is cooked well if the tooth comes out clean.
  •  Cool it for two to three hours and so turn it the wrong way up.
  •  Slice and serve. It stays fresh for a week within the icebox.
