Jaipur, 27 July 2017: Teno, India’s leading mobile application which aims to facilitate
communication between schools, teachers, and parents, organized an event where reputed
educationists from the city deliberated on the role of educators in promoting emotional well-
being amongst school students. This event witnessed participation from over 50 schools, which
is one of the largest congregations of School Principals of Jaipur.
The educators at the event actively participated in the discussion on ‘role of schools in securing
emotional well-being among students’, as it is an issue which has been a cause of worry in the
recent time. Various factors that can disturb the well-being of children, like pressure of
academics, aggression, lack of attention from parents, loneliness, bullying by peers, distressed
families, lack of facilities in schools, lackluster approach from teachers and inferiority complex,
were discussed in the session. They spoke about various methods that can be implemented in
schools to monitor the emotional and mental well-being of students, which includes globally
certified assessment tools, research led activities and harboring a nurturing environment in
schools albeit the stiff competition and demand for academic excellence.
Speaking about this initiative, Mr. Anurag Dixit, Vice President, Teno App, said, “A child spends
most of the active time of the day in school. Hence it is imperative that schools have the right
environment and infrastructure to accentuate the overall growth and well-being of the child.
With the same intention in mind, we collaborated with the educational Heads of schools to
come together and raise awareness on the role of schools to secure the child’s well-being. We
are delighted with the immense support and participation from all corners of the city and hope
we leverage this association to tackle similar issues that have infested our young generation.”
Mrs. Girija Singh, Counsellor, Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ Public School, commented saying,
It is extremely important for principals and teachers to first manage their own emotional
quotient when dealing with children. The attitude of teachers percolates to students and hence
principals should be careful in imbibing the right attitude in teachers. Teachers, being the role
model, play a crucial role in molding the emotional outlook of students.”
Renowned schools that participated in the event were Maharani Gayatri Devi Girls’ Public
School, Jankidevi Public School, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, S R Global School, among
many others. This medium was the fourth initiative, after the Mumbai event, which is a part of

their unique series ‘Deliberations’, which will be an open forum to lead industry conversations
on various issues that impact educationists and school children.
