HISTORIC moment for rajasthan tourism, 41 AUSTRALIAN SOLO TOURISTS TO CHARTER BOOK ROYAL TRIAN FOR RS.1.30 CRORES

Jaipur. Famous across the world and unparalleled for its luxurious journeys, the legendary train ‘Palace on Wheels’ has added a new dimension to its glorious history with the courtesy of the Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation.

The luxury train for tourists ‘Palace on Wheels’, today started from Safdarjung railway station, New Delhi with a group of 41 Australian Solo Tourists passengers who charter booked for Rs.1.30 Crores.

General Manager of POW Mr. Pradeep Bohara revealed that this year, for the first time in its history, a group of solo travellers from Australia have board the train today, which set forth for its destination in the glorious state of Rajasthan & one of the wonder of the world at historic Agra.

Bohara further told that This group has booked entire 41 cabins of the train, bearing the total cost of all the cabins . Complete train is chartered for this trip. On September 26 also the train is chartered by Worldwide Rail Journeys Pvt. Ltd and all set to draw a mix of nationalities.

He told that even in the off season, where other luxury trains struggle to get bookings, Palace on Wheels is doing a great business. For all tourists who experience the ‘Palace on Wheels’, it’s the most memorable part of their India trip. They will experience a uniquely Indian rail journey which will be unparalleled in the world. The itinerary for ongoing season will remain same as before: Delhi-Jaipur-Sawai Madhopur-Chittorgarh-Udaipur-Jaiselmer-Jodhpur-Bharatpur-Agra-Delhi. Continued patronage of a global clientele is shows a great trust and achievement for the travellers that make it such a memorable journey.

GM RTDC Sanjeev Sharma informed that further up the comfort levels for tourists on board, major refurbishments have been carried out on the train. The entire train has been re-carpeted with the finest oriental carpet. All bathrooms have been renovated with Montalic tiles and ACP walls, so as to ensure the highest standards of hygiene. Two restro-bars have been redesigned and redecorated with comfortable furniture and beautiful interiors. The coaches have been given a fresh paint. The cabins have been painted in soothing colours such as sky-blue and pink. LED lights and new switches have been installed. With an aim of being eco-friendly, bio-toilets have been incorporated in all the bathrooms. Corridors of all saloons have been repainted to give them a fresh allure. New culinary delights from the great Indian kitchen have been added to the menu. Passengers will taste some of the finest Rajasthani delicacies.

The total number of cabins is 41 and it is usually fully booked. With above mentioned renovations, the overall experience is likely to be in keeping with impeccable reputation of the ‘Palace on Wheels’. Setting new benchmarks in the history of luxury travel, solo luxury travel will be the first of its kind. Whenever one is travelling solo, there’s no better way to see the ‘royal’ side of India. It is noted that a joint venture of Indian Railways and Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), the train with all modern facilities will travel to Jaipur, Sawaimadhopur, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bharatpur and Agra before returning to the capital.

The total capacity of the train is 82 pax and in the maiden tour.
The seven-day journey takes the tourists across mountains, rivers, forests and sand dunes in a luxurious air-conditioned comfort.
It will make a total of 34 trips from September 2018 to April 2019 and thousands of passengers are expected to travel in the train. The train has 23 coaches comprising of 14 saloons, one spa coach, two restaurants–“Maharaja” & “Maharani”, one reception-cum-bar and Royal SPA with Gym car.The interior decor of POW is on the state theme. H.Guite, MD, RTDC informed that the train has got 60% confirmed booking for the current season 2018-19.

General Manager of POW Mr. Pradeep Bohara Informed that looking towords the comfort of guests and continuous demand of the GSA, this year major refurbishment work has been done in the Palace on Wheels.
Mr Sanjeev Sharma,GM of RTDC in New Delhi state that the Tariff of POW per pax per night is 650 US Dollar (Rs.39,000/-) on Double Occupancy in the months of October 2018 to March,2019. For single Occupancy this is 865 US dollar (Rs.51900/-) and for Super Deluxe saloon it is 1800 US dollar (Rs.108000/-).

In the months September 2018 and April, 2019 Tariff of Palace on Wheels is fixed as per pax per night 500 US Dollar (Rs.30,000/-) on Double Occupancy and 650 US Dollar (Rs.39,000/-) for single Occupancy and for Super Deluxe saloon it is 1350 US Dollar (Rs.81,000/-).
